History of the group
SETTING UP THE COMPANY
The political turnaround led the cooperative to adapt to the new sociopolitical and economic directions, consequently transforming its statutes into a joint-stock company, administered by a Board of Directors and a Chief Executive Officer, open to welcoming new shareholders for equity fundraising and having access to external financing through obtaining bank loans. Thus began the odyssey of the young company Sifcol, which at that time was the first manufacturer of glue and its derivatives.
Founded in 1964, Sifcol was the first Tunisian industrial company in the manufacture of glue and its derivatives. Having political and strategic significance in the eyes of the government, it was inaugurated by the President of the Republic His Excellency Habib Bourguiba.
ENTRY INTO PRODUCTION
This year saw the closing of the investment program and the beginning of the company’s production.
LAUNCH OF ALCASIT
Sifcol launched its first Binding product under the brand ®Alcasit with the aim of developing and expanding its market. This product was developed and introduced to the market for use in renovation and decoration activities.
CREATION OF THE SUBSIDIARY SIFCOL DISTRIBUTION
The promotion of a technical direction and the installation of a laboratory for the quality control of raw materials, products in process and finished products has allowed the company to develop its performance, to concretize its hegemony in the local market and to provide its sustained growth.
Also, the satisfaction of its customers and the perpetual growth of the demand for its products were – they were at the origin of the motivations which presided over the creation of its subsidiary «Sifcol Distribution». This subsidiary is today the springboard and engine of several national and international affairs.
The Sifcol group of companies has signed several contracts with confirmed foreign partners who represent the brand ®Sifcol in several Arab, African and European countries: Libya, Morocco, Côte d’;Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Niger, France, etc.
OBTAINING TUV CERTIFICATE 9002
The Sifcol Group has obtained its first certificate: ISO 9002 from TUV.
CERTIFICATION OF THE QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM ISO9001: 2000
